Garden District Garden District

There is plenty to do in the Garden District. You can visit some of New Orlean’s finest restaurants, stop in the Audubon Park and Zoo, shop along Magazine Street or visit the Lafayette Cemetery, one of the oldest in the city. The area is a great place to view the architecture while wandering the streets full of beautiful mansions and graceful landscaping. The majority of accommodation options in this area are Inns and B&Bs, most of which are in stunning historic homes. The St. Charles Streetcar offers an easy trip to the Central Business District and French Quarter, for additional places to stay.

French Quarter French Quarter

The French Quarter and Bourbon Street is one of the oldest place in the city and the focal point for many vacations to New Orleans. When you stay in the Quarter, the famous nightlife district, including the Mardi Gras, one can find a room or hotel within easy walking to Bourbon Street. There are many fine restaurants here that are known for its French-Creole cuisine, and many small boutiques, antique shops including Cafe du Monde, also known for its great New Orleans Coffee, all within walking distance.

Business District Central Business District & Downtown

The Central Business District (CBD) is where conventioneers and business travelers find a perfect place for business lunches, meetings, and other convention activities. It is a mix of high-rises, boutique hotels, lively bars and sleek eateries serving modern Cajun-Creole cuisine and home to the largest concentration of the city’s hotels.

With the proximity to the French Quarter and city's biggest attractions, it is often a good choice for tourists of all kinds. Evenings bring visitors to the historic Lafayette Square for free concerts, there’s upscale shopping in the South Market District and at Canal Place, which is also home to the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas and Harrah’s Casino.

Cheaper hotel options can sometimes be found close to convention center and attractions. Travelers on a budget will find a good selection of generic but affordable hotel chains here, and it’s worth checking hotel prices because sometimes unique properties like the International House Hotel have commensurate low price hotel rooms, especially in the off-season. Many luxury lodging options are also available here for those that require more upscale hotel accommodations for their visit to New Orleans.
